Lupus and the Skin - The Untold Story
Time & Location
About the Event
Did you know 66% of those with lupus will develop some form of skin disease? Skin lupus is an autoimmune skin disease that occurs when your immune system attacks healthy skin cells by mistake and damages your skin. This can cause redness, itching, pain, and eventual scarring of the skin.
Lupus of the skin can occur by itself or manifest as a part of systemic lupus erythematosus — the most serious type of lupus that affects your entire body like your joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain. Cutaneous lupus, the type affecting the skin, can be effectively treated by highly-trained specialists.
In this episode of Marlene’s Kaleidoscope Round Table we will speak about how Lupus can affect the skin as Dr. Kaplan describes skin lupus types and how to manage to live with lupus. This webinar will give you a knowledge of Lupus of the skin and how it affects you and your loved ones. Our live webinar and Q&A session with our expert Dr. David Kaplan MD, a regionally and nationally recognized Master Clinician in Dermatology of Adult and Pediatric Dermatology of Kansas City. He will be sharing in-depth knowledge of lupus of the skin.
Questions will be answered during the Scheduled Q&A. We are asking that you send in your questions before the Webinar to email@example.com before Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 5 PM
